From the first moment you get engaged you know you will have to go through a decision and planning process that will be both fun and challenging at the same time. Putting everything together and fine tuning it to perfection takes effort, not only from you, but also for some close people around you who want everything perfect for your wedding day.

    Emails go back and forth, inspiration from here and there: color themes to choose from, flower arrangements, the rings, venues, cake, hair, makeup, shoes, dress, bridesmaids dresses, tuxedos, limousines, videographer, photographer. It really can be overwhelming. I personally think that hiring a professional wedding planner will reduce much of the stress of your wedding planning, and will lift a lot of the weight off of your shoulders. They have all the experience with what they do and they will have everything under control for you, so you can have peace of mind and enjoy your wedding as you should. And let's not forget about the weather: we are really under its mercy, so we don't know if we are going to get that shiny day you have been waiting for or an unexpected thunderstorm.

    All of this is important, but I think that the real secret here is not about anything I have mentioned before in this note. The real secret for you to have the most incredible and amazing wedding day ever is (drum roll....) to not think about anything else other than having fun and enjoying every single minute of that day with your new husband or wife, your families, your friends, your crazy friends and everybody who is present at your wedding. This is a decision that must come from within you and that you have total control over. You can make or break your day with this one decision.

    Choose to enjoy every moment, make your time getting ready a relaxing and fun experience. Sip some wine, have a laugh with your bridesmaids or groomsmen, take your time putting on your wedding dress or suit, order a pizza, jump on your bed, tell jokes, be funny and be happy; let your emotions take over for a minute or two, and let those tears of happiness flow. Have some amazing photos taken of you and your bridal party getting ready for the big day, and save those moments of joy for the rest of your life.

    Once you have to leave, enjoy your ride on your way to the ceremony. During the ceremony look at your husband or wife to be in the eyes and think about how much you love him/her - the person you are about to marry. Look at the people witnessing your union and feel honoured they came for the two of you.

    During your formal photos, let that happiness and worry free vibe be contagious so that everybody will feel it and reflect that joy back. I always tell the couples I work with that I can't predict if the weather will cooperate or not, but your photos will always be beautiful and a timeless memory. Whether the images will be made indoors or outdoors, with natural or artificial light, an honest, natural smile and a couple expressing their love to each other will make the most amazing photos anytime, anywhere in the world, no matter what!

    The reception is party time, baby!!! Who cares about a broken heel on one of your shoes? Take the other shoe off and let's dance like nobody's watching! Let's bring that roof down! The flowers are perfect where they are, the food is awesome, the music is bustin', and now some wine and a lot of laughter will make things even better for everybody. Let's see some amazing dance moves from your guests, let your grandparents break the dance floor with their groove!

    You know what? Your wedding day will go fast, very fast, faster than what you may think. There's no time for not enjoying yourselves or thinking about anything else. Your photos will reflect, your real emotions on that day will be recorded for generations. You want to tell your love story showing who you are, how happy you all were that day, and how much you and everybody else enjoyed the celebration and had lots of fun. As a photographer documenting your beautiful wedding, I want to see big smiles and laughter when I deliver your pictures to you. You will notice how happy and good everyone looks in the photos, all because of one important decision you made...... TO ENJOY YOUR WEDDING DAY and have the most incredible wedding ever.
