PWPC Spring 2014 Wedding Photography Contest Judge: Darshan Stevens
Darshan Stevens   Darshan Photography    (Victoria, BC)

"I was trained as a photojournalist - I graduated with a Diploma from Western Academy of Photography in 2009 and went on to work for weekly newspaper in Victoria. Soon enough I was shooting my colleague's weddings on the weekends. I realized I loved photographing weddings, being in close proximity to such an intimate and eventful time of people's lives.

Being entrusted as the memory keeper - documenting, and combining that documentation with the art of light, exposure, composition - has been overwhelmingly fulfilling. Capturing the unexpected moments from unexpected angles is a big part of what keeps me feeling like every wedding is brand new, and totally unique. I'm a photojournalist at heart."
