PWPC Spring 2016 Wedding Photography Contest Judge: Mel Shields
Mel Shields   Melanie Shields Photography    (Ottawa, ON)

With a desire to do something artistic, I started my photography journey in Ottawa when people still used film and graduated the Algonquin College Photography diploma program two years later. It wasn't until digital took over that I began specializing in engagements + weddings and can't imagine being able to capture any other more exciting event for a living!

I have since been fortunate enough to be awarded a few national and international awards (Professional Wedding Photographers Of Canada, WedAward, Wedding Industry Experts Awards) and joined forces with the incredible creative powerhouse known as Third Floor York, comprised of 5 amazing independent photography businesses.
PWPC Spring 2016 Wedding Photography Contest Judge: John Park
John Park   John and Veronica Photography Inc.    (North York, ON)

John and Veronica Photography is an international award-winning studio, providing a boutique experience for the brides and grooms in documenting their most cherished memories for local and destination weddings. As one of the two main photographers at the studio, John strives to push boundaries to be innovative and creative with all the couples. Awards include several awards from Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) in various categories. In 2015, he was awarded 2-nd place in the bridal party category.

John's work was also awarded and exhibited in multiple cities around Canada for "TOP 30 Nikon Professional Services Exhibition in Canada". His work has been featured on various Internet communities and blogs such as Buzzfeed, WedAwards and Fundy Designer.
PWPC Spring 2016 Wedding Photography Contest Judge: Calin Ardeleanu
Calin Ardeleanu   Photography by Calin    (Toronto, ON)

Like many of my predecessors, I left a successful career (a business career in my case) to follow my dream and became a wedding photographer, against my family and friends strong advice. I have a burning passion for photography, I study and practice every day, attend seminars and workshops to improve my craft and I strongly believe couples who hire me deserve my absolute best! My visual style is cinematic: colourful, infused with dramatic composition and accompanied by beautiful light. While photography has been a part of my life since I was a kid and I spent many hours with my father in our dark room, my formal education is in business and I hold an MBA from McGill University in Montreal. As a wedding photographer my goal is to create art works my couples will cherish for many decades to come. Weddings are sacred to me and it is such an honor and privilege to document the beginning of a new family.
The word that defines me it is: "BELIEVE! ! !".
